Every February, Phillies fans fly south and turn Clearwater into a little piece of Philadelphia. Spring training at BayCare Ballpark is one of the best tickets in the Grapefruit League: a small, open-air park, a grass berm in the outfield, and the Gulf beaches about 20 minutes away. Here’s the full 2027 schedule, how to get tickets, and where to stay.
The Short Answer
Phillies spring training 2027 is at BayCare Ballpark in Clearwater, Florida. The first game is Friday, Feb. 19, 2027 at the Tigers in Lakeland, and the Grapefruit League home opener is Saturday, Feb. 20 vs. the Blue Jays. The Phillies play 16 of their 30 spring games at home, wrapping up with the Rays on March 19 and 22. Stay on Clearwater Beach or in Dunedin, both about 15 to 20 minutes from the ballpark.

The schedule is packed with big road crowds: the Yankees come to Clearwater three times, the Blue Jays three times, and the Red Sox once. Those are the games that sell out first. After spring training, the Phillies open the regular season March 25 at Washington.

BayCare Ballpark: What to Know
BayCare Ballpark sits at 601 N. Old Coachman Road in Clearwater, in the Countryside area just off US-19 and about 20 minutes inland from Clearwater Beach. The Phillies’ Carpenter Complex practice fields are right next door, so you can watch players work out in the mornings before games.
Tickets
Tickets are sold through the Phillies’ official website. On-sale dates for 2027 hadn’t been announced yet, but buy as soon as they’re released for the Yankees, Red Sox, Blue Jays and St. Patrick’s Day games, which go fast. Berm (lawn) seats are the cheapest way in and a classic spring training experience: bring a towel or blanket.
Getting there
- From Tampa International Airport: about 30 minutes without traffic, across the Courtney Campbell Causeway or the Bayside Bridge.
- From Clearwater Beach: about 20 minutes east via the Memorial Causeway.
- From Dunedin: about 15 minutes, and close enough to pair with a Blue Jays game at TD Ballpark.
Where to Stay for Phillies Spring Training
Most Phillies fans pick one of two bases: the beach, or downtown Dunedin. Book early for late February and March, because spring training overlaps with spring break and prices climb fast.
